Frequently asked questions
What kinds of businesses is StockMate built for?
General stores and grocery shops, clothing stores, pharmacies and restaurants or cafés. You can switch on several industry modules at once, so a shop that mixes categories is fine.
Do I need special hardware?
No. StockMate runs in a modern web browser on a PC, laptop or tablet. Receipts print from the browser to any printer it can reach, and USB barcode scanners that type into the search box work.
Can I use more than one industry module?
Yes. Turn modules on and off from Settings whenever you like. Switching one off only hides its screens and fields — your data is kept.
Can I sell on credit and track what customers owe?
Yes. Credit and partial-payment sales are recorded against a customer, whose balance is kept in a running ledger. You can record payments and corrections at any time.
Does StockMate work offline?
Not yet. StockMate is cloud based and needs an internet connection. If your connection drops, sales cannot be recorded until it returns.
Is my business data safe?
Passwords are stored hashed, traffic uses HTTPS and each business’s data is kept separate from everyone else’s. Data is stored in a managed cloud database. See our Privacy Policy for details.
How much does it cost?
Every new account gets a free 5-day trial with full access — no card needed. When the trial ends, contact the StockMate team to activate your account; your data is kept so you can carry on where you left off. Questions about your setup? Get in touch through the contact page.
Can I import my existing products?
