1. The Service
StockMate is a cloud-based point-of-sale application for businesses. We may improve, change or retire features over time, and some features may still be in development.
2. Your account
- Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password confidential — you are responsible for activity under your account.
- You must be able to enter a binding contract on behalf of yourself or your business.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for anything unlawful or to record unlawful transactions;
- attempt to access another business’s data or to bypass security or usage limits;
- interfere with, overload or reverse-engineer the Service;
- upload malicious code or send spam, including through the contact form.
4. Your data
You own the business data you enter. You give us a limited licence to host and process it solely to provide the Service to you. You are responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of that data, including any personal information about your own customers, and for keeping your own records as you see fit. You can ask us for a copy of your data.
5. Financial and tax information
Reports such as gross profit, day closing and cash in hand are calculated from the data you enter and are provided for convenience. They are not accounting, tax or legal advice. Please verify figures before relying on them for filings or decisions.
6. Availability
We aim to keep the Service reliable, but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. The Service requires an internet connection and does not currently work offline. We may carry out maintenance from time to time.
7. Intellectual property
The Service, its design and its branding belong to us or our licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service while your account is active and in line with these terms.
8. Fees
Every new account starts with a free 5-day trial with full access and no payment details. When the trial ends, access is paused until you contact the StockMate team and your account is activated. We keep your data while an account waits for activation, for a reasonable period. If paid plans are introduced, the fees and applicable terms will be shown to you before you are charged.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or business opportunities. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or one hundred US dollars (USD 100).
11. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or end access if you breach these terms or if needed to protect the Service or other users. When access ends you should export anything you need; we may delete data after a reasonable period.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The “last updated” date shows the latest version, and continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator of the Service is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
