1. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run the Service:
- Account information — your name, email address, business name and a password. Passwords are stored only as a salted hash; we cannot read them.
- Business data you enter — products, prices, stock, customers (names, phone numbers and emails you choose to record), sales, purchases, suppliers and the reports calculated from them.
- Messages you send us — the name, email, topic and message you submit through the contact form.
- Technical data — like most websites, our hosting infrastructure processes IP addresses, browser details and request logs to deliver pages and keep the Service secure.
2. How we use information
- To provide, operate and secure the Service, including signing you in and keeping each business’s data separate.
- To respond to messages and support requests.
- To detect and prevent abuse, and to keep the Service reliable.
We do not sell your information and we do not use it for advertising.
3. Your customers’ data
If you record information about your own customers or suppliers in StockMate, you decide what is collected and why. You are responsible for having a lawful basis and any notices required for that data. We process it only on your behalf, to provide the Service to you.
5. Where data is stored and who helps us run the Service
We use third-party providers that process data on our behalf to run the Service:
- Vercel — hosts the website and application.
- Neon — provides the managed PostgreSQL database where account and business data is stored.
- Google Fonts — serves the typeface used on our pages.
These providers may process data in countries other than your own. We choose providers that maintain appropriate security practices.
6. How long we keep data
We keep account and business data while your account is active. Contact-form messages are kept for as long as needed to respond and follow up. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time (see “Your choices and rights”).
7. Security
Traffic to the Service uses HTTPS, passwords are stored as salted hashes, and each business’s data is isolated from every other business’s. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
8. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete the personal information we hold about you. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local data-protection law. To make a request, use our contact page and tell us the email address on your account.
9. Children
The Service is intended for businesses and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service evolves. The “last updated” date above shows the latest version, and we will make clear changes easy to find.
