Pharmacy POS: common questions
How does batch and expiry tracking work?
Switch on the Pharmacy module, then add batches to a product with a batch number, expiry date and quantity. Stock for that product is the sum of its batches.
What is FEFO?
First-expiry-first-out. When you sell an item, StockMate takes the quantity from the batch that expires soonest, then the next one, so older stock never gets stranded.
Does StockMate verify prescriptions?
No. You can mark products as prescription-only in your catalogue so staff can see it, but StockMate does not check or store prescriptions.
Can I record batches when stock arrives?
Yes. On a purchase order you can enter a batch number and expiry date per line, and StockMate creates or tops up the matching batch.
